4th Deck This level contains the LST's engine rooms, shaft alleys, voids, ballast tanks, fuel tanks and, in most LST's, the water desalination plant. It is the lowest deck of the ship, and all compartments on this level are only accessible via vertical ladders housed in escape trunks.
